We congratulate Sebastian Leidel (DCBP, University of Bern) on being awarded the 2026 the RNA Society Mid-Career Award! According to their website, the RNA Society established in 2016 this award to recognize outstanding scientific achievements for scientists in the middle parts of their careers. Sebastian Leidel is Full Professor at the University of Bern and heads the Cellular RNA Biochemistry lab. His lab uses a variety of model systems and methods to eludicate RNA metabolism, including RNA modifications and translational quality control.
