Raphaëlle Luisier Appointed Assistant Professor at the University of Bern!

We warmly congratulate Raphaëlle Luisier on her appointment as Assistant Professor Tenure Track for Omics Data Science for Transcriptomics at the Department for BioMedical Research (DBMR), University of Bern!

After leading the Biological Data Science Group at the IDIAP Research Institute in Martigny, Raphaëlle has now moved her lab to the Department for BioMedical Research (DBMR) at the University of Bern, where she was recently appointed as Assistant Professor Tenure Track for Omics Data Science for Transcriptomics.

Raphaëlle Luisier holds a PhD in Bioinformatics from the University of Basel and brings over a decade of interdisciplinary research experience in RNA biology, with a strong focus on complex human diseases. Her work bridges genomics, clinical data, and medical imaging, applying advanced AI and machine learning techniques to uncover the molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases and cancer.

At her new lab in Bern, she continues to develop innovative methods for the integrative analysis of multimodal datasets, in close collaboration with leading AI experts and clinicians. Her goal is to improve diagnostic tools and contribute to the development of novel therapeutic strategies.

We are pleased that Luisier has also joined the NCCR RNA & Disease as a Full Member, and we look forward to her contributions to the network.
