Right on time for August 1, the Swiss National Holiday and the International RNA Day we are happy to release our next public outreach science communication project which was produced together with the University of Bern's Support Center for ICT-Aided Teaching and Research (iLUB):
The interactive Flash MOOC Video: RNA - The future of Medicine
The video is on SMA, RNA metabolism and how SMA can be treated with the antisense oligonucleotide Nusinersen, and features as experts the NCCR director Oliver Mühlemann (University of Bern) and Adrian Krainer (Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and SAB member of the NCCR.
Please help spread the word to persons who want to learn about the basics of RNA metabolism and how an antisense oligonucleotide can be used to prevent the devastating genetic disease SMA.
We would like to thank all the persons involved, especially the producers from the iLUB team of the University of Bern who did a terrific job with the animations and storytelling of such a complex topic!
