Following a call for associate members to submit proposals for PhD projects that will be carried out in collaboration with NCCR member or NCCR associate member labs, the following three projects were selected for funding:

• “Molecular determinants mediated by transcript 3' ends and RNA-binding proteins in the active selection of sperm RNA content” by Pei-Hsuan Wu (University of Geneva) in collaboration with Raphaëlle Luisier (IDIAP Research Institute)
• “The role of tRNA modifications in ageing and neurodegenerative diseases” by Karsten Weis (ETH Zurich) in collaboration with Sebastian Leidel (University of Bern)
• “Generation of CAR T cells based on RNA lipid nanoparticles” by Roger Geiger (Institute for Research in Biomedicine, Bellinzona) in collaboration with Steve Pascolo (University Hospital Zurich) and Gerald Schwank (University of Zurich)
