NCCR Retreat, Swiss RNA Workshop and Therapeutics Summit

At the end of January and beginning of February, three NCCR RNA & Disease related in-person events took place in Bern and Kandersteg.

On Thursday, January 26, 2023, the first Swiss RNA Therapeutics Summit took place in Bern jointly organized by the NCCR RNA & Disease and the Swiss Biotech Association which was attended by 170 persons from academia, government and industry. Keynotes were given by Shalini Andersson (AstraZeneca, Göteborg, Sweden) and Mustafa Diken (BioNTech, Mainz, Germany).

On Friday, January 27, 2023, 200 researchers gathered in Bern for the traditional Swiss RNA Workshop with keynotes by Marina Chekulaeva (Max Delbrück Center, Berlin, Germany), Jørgen Kjems (Aarhus University, Denmark) and Eric Westhof (CNRS, Strasbourg, France). The scientific organizing committee consistes of Maria Hondele (University of Basel), Stefanie Jonas (ETH Zurich), Oliver Mühlemann (University of Bern).

The week after from Monday, January 30, to February 1, 2023 the seventh NCCR RNA & Disease retreat took place in Kandersteg. Keynotes were given by Adrian Krainer (Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, USA), Robert Schneider (New York University, USA) and Sarah Woodson (Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA).
