Mapping long non-coding RNAs

Nature Reviews Genetics Article

Identifying long non-coding RNAs is still challenging with the currently available technologies. In the September issue of Nature Reviews Genetics a review was published entitled “Towards a complete map of the human long non-coding RNA transcriptome”, in which the current approaches for annotating long non-coding RNAs are discussed as well as how new long-read sequencing technologies could contribute to this task. Last and corresponding author of the article is NCCR RNA & Disease junior principal investigator Rory Johnson (Department for BioMedical Research, University of Bern), whose lab studies the roles of long non-coding RNAs in diseases, especially in cancer.
