Welcome to the Swiss National Center of Competence in Research RNA & Disease
The role of RNA in disease mechanisms
The National Center of Competence in Research (NCCR) RNA & Disease is a coordinated, interdisciplinary research program bringing together 21 research groups located in Bern, Zurich, Basel, Geneva and Lausanne.
Leading house of the NCCR RNA & Disease is the University of Bern with Prof. Oliver Mühlemann as director and Co-leading house is the ETH Zurich with Prof. Frédéric Allain as co-director.
RNA as the central molecule of life:
RNA functions as a carrier of genetic information, as a biocatalyst, and exerts crucial regulatory functions in the cell. Arrows indicate the flow of genetic information and regulatory functions.
